Abstract Objective: The purpose of the study was to introduce the development of Volitional Questionnaire-Chinese version and to examine the test-retest reliability of the Volitional Questionnaire-Chinese version for clients with depression in Taiwan. Methods: The Volitional Questionnaire was translated into Mandarin via 2 stage methodology and tested on 46 clients who were diagnosed with depressive disorders. The clients were consisted of eight males and thirty-eight females. The average age of the clients was 50.50 years old. (SD=15.37). All subjects participated in purposeful activities arranged by the researcher, the volitional status of the clients was assessed. After ten to fifteen days, reevaluation was carried out by the same researcher in the same environment. Abstract Objective: Functional performances were emphasized on the occupational therapy in mental health. However, lacking of standardized evaluation tools was noticed.The Occupational Self Assessment (OSA) was developed based on the model of human occupation and client- center intervention. The purpose of this study was to examine the psychometric properities of Chinese version of OSA. OSA was translated into Mandarin by research members before testing. 93 patients diagnosed as schizophrenia were recruited from 2 community hospitals (either from day care program or outpatient department) in northern Taiwan. 51 of the subjects were accepted the retest of OSA within 2 weeks.
